RSA keys help to control authentication between the Backup Agent and Manager. The first time the Backup Manager runs, it will generate a new RSA Public and Private Key. To communicate with the Backup Manager, the Backup Agent must have a file containing the Backup Manager's Public Key.
- Add the key to Windows Backup Agent — To allow a Backup Manager to connect to your Windows Backup Agent to perform backups, you must first add a Manager Public Key to the Backup Agent. Instructions on how to add the Key to your Backup Agent using the Windows Backup Manager Configuration Utility.
- View keys added to Windows Backup Agent — Instructions on how to access the added keys in the Windows Backup Agent Utility interface.
- Uninstall the key from Windows Backup Agent — If you have previously allowed the Backup Manager to connect to your Backup Agent but you do not want to allow future requests, you will need to remove the Key for the Backup Manager.
